OK, I stated earlier we would be running tech tips in all future blogs, so here we go. Since we're talking about clean up for the new season, here's a cleaning tip. You've likely already discovered the many uses for WD-40. Well it also works great as an upholstery cleaner ! It doesn't matter if you have vinyl, or cloth, gum or grease, WD will likely do as good or better a job as any hi performance cleaning solution. Here's another resto tip. Ever wrestle with masking tape, trying to remove it after spray painting? When you detail an area of the engine compartment, for example, you want to mask off hoses or wiring. Perhaps you're spray painting the rear axle but don't want to remove the shocks. Use tin foil ! It conforms perfectly to the shape of the part you don't want to paint and it removes effortlessly after painting. Use tin foil for A/C lines, exhaust manifolds, fan belts and so on. It's quick!
